Product Description

The S320A is a high voltage wireless phase comparator for checking phase relationships in power systems. X and Y detectors transmit measurements to a handheld receiver, which displays phase angle, phase sequence, frequency, voltage and a vector diagram together.

Open-field phase comparison extends up to 160 m. Voice prompts indicate detector signal status and in-phase or out-of-phase conditions, while data hold and record storage support reviewing measurements. Contact or non-contact detection must be selected according to the conductor and applicable operating procedure.

Technical FAQ

Is the phase-detection range the same as the voltage-measurement range?
No. The sources specify an AC conductor voltage range of 1 V to 550 kV for phase detection. The separate voltage-measurement range is 1 kV to 35 kV; the two ranges describe different functions.
What does the maximum 160 m distance mean?
The manual states that the phase-comparison distance is up to 160 m in an open field. Site conditions and received detector signals need to be considered; this is not an unconditional distance guarantee.
Are contact and non-contact detection both available?
Yes. The manual describes both methods and specifies non-contact phasing for bare conductors above 35 kV. The permitted method for insulated cables and the required insulating rod must be confirmed from the applicable operating instructions.
Can results be held and stored?
Yes. The sources specify data hold, record review and storage for up to 9,999 measurement sets.
