Product Description

The S642 earth leakage clamp meter measures small AC leakage currents and load currents up to 300 A. Its 42 mm jaw and current resolution down to 0.01 mA support checks in low-voltage circuits, including investigation of leakage-related RCD or GFCI trips.

AC voltage, phase angle and frequency measurements help check the circuit alongside the current reading. Data hold and memory for 99 readings let technicians store and review results directly on the meter during site inspections.

Technical FAQ

Which conductors should be clamped for a leakage-current check?
For a single-phase circuit, the manual shows live and neutral together. For three-phase leakage checks, it shows all three phase conductors together in a three-wire system, or the three phases and neutral together in a four-wire system. A separate protective-earth check clamps the earth conductor only. Follow the manual’s connection diagrams for the circuit being tested.
What is the current range and resolution?
The S642 measures AC current up to 300 A, with current resolution down to 0.01 mA. Its jaw opening is 42 mm.
Can the S642 store readings?
Yes. HOLD freezes and stores a reading, and the meter can retain up to 99 sets. READ and the arrow keys are used to review stored readings.
Which measurements are available in addition to leakage current?
The S642 measures AC voltage up to 600 V, phase angle and frequency. The MODE button selects the measurement function.
